Sound Transit has scheduled three open houses to provide an update on station designs for the Lynnwood Link light-rail extension.

The agency has made a series of “design refinements” to cut costs for the 8.5-mile extension, Sound Transit officials said in a press release. The line will run from Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood to Lynnwood, Washington.

At each of the upcoming meetings, Sound Transit will provide updates about “cost-efficient” station and project designs, agency officials said. Staff also will share details about ongoing work to secure federal funding for the project.

The first open house will take place Wednesday, with the others scheduled for June 27 and July 25.

The estimated cost of the Lynnwood Link extension has recently increased from $2.9 billion to $3.2 billion, The Seattle Times reported.
