Former Federal Railroad Administrator Ronald Batory has been appointed to R. J. Corman Railroad Group LLC‘s board.
Prior to his service as FRA administrator in the Trump administration, Batory spent his entire 46-year career in the railroad industry. He retired from Consolidated Rail Corp. (Conrail) after more than 12 years as its president and chief operating officer. His career also includes a stint as president of the Belt Railway Co. of Chicago.
Batory’s legacy in the industry is “unparalleled,” said Ed Quinn, president and chief executive officer of R. J. Corman Railroad Group, in a press release.
“Our company has worked with Ron in many capacities throughout his career in the railroad industry and we know he is a person of impeccable integrity whose insight and leadership will prove invaluable as he helps steward our company in the coming years,” Quinn said.
Batory said he’s looking forward to his new role with R. J. Corman.
“For many years, they have been known throughout the railroad industry as a top-tier service provider, and I am happy to assist however I can to continue their success,” he said.
Batory served as FRA administrator from 2018 to January 2021.
